Weak Gyro bug has returned.

Not sure when, but the bug that causes gyros to become very weak until you tap the thrusters has returned- seems to mainly affect roll axis ( yaw is normal, pitch seems to be okay ). Seems to be very intermittent- waggling the ship around seems to 'break it free' for a few moments, then it refuses to roll again regardless of settings/number of gyros etc. This is on small grid ships- I experienced this when trying to land on a platform in space ( no gravity ).

Anyone experience this or similar?

I was able to get an old computer for free from work and set up a server on it. It has a I7-2600 in it(which I can put a I7-2600K with an overclock in) and 4gb of ram along with a 250gb hdd. If I wanted the best bang for buck upgrade, for better sim speed, should I get more ram or would a better CPU be better? AFAIK the server only uses 2 cores so a quad core or high isnt really needed. So would a RAM upgrade be better?

So our game has a speed limit of 100m/s 110m/s for engineer.
I was last in a game and i was attacking a vessel.
However thius vessel started fleeing.
I destroyed it's thrusters but since we are in space there was no slowdown.
I could not catch up with the enemy ship ad i aborted after 10 minutes.

Should we not have some sort of bypass of the speedlimit?
So when you give more thrust you will exeed the speed limit to let's say 120m/s and if you turn the thruster off regardless of inertia...

[1.186.3] Rotor lock doesn't work properly

I have a boarding ramp in my ship composed of rotors and blast door blocks (which are heavy). My ship is tilting when I hover over ground. I used rotor lock to stop tilting but it didn't help.

Since the major graphics update, screenshots taken with Post Processing turned off are totally washed out & over-exposed - by which I mean it's not possible to see what's in the image at all.
Took one just now & the whole image turned out completely white - foreground and background, with only a few odd pixels of a slightly darker shade of white distinguishing the vague outline of (it was a ship but you couldn't tell) somewhere in the centre.

My control setup uses F12 as the Steam...

So an issue that i, along with several other people have been experiencing since update 1.186, is that if you are in control of a grid and then try to control a remote control on a sub-grid then you are told that "This is not the main cockpit".

However since update 1.186.2 this has been changed to "Grid control forbidden. Seat/Remote with higher priority is already occupied." This is an issue as it stops people from effectively creating anything where they are controlling the grid from a...

is MP in SE even possible?

so, what you people think? is MP even fixable in SE? I know you can play with 2, maybe 4 players, but you have to limit some stuff. but still, something will make you rage soon or later.

For me it seems that this engine just can't work in MP with all the data it have to send to every client, voxel changes, physics, items, players position, and everything. I hope Keen prove me wrong.
You have games like ArmA 3 for example, it was very laggy, and had a lot of desync in the Alpha stage, and...

Wow.. did I get my hopes up there for a second.

For about .2 seconds I thought SE supported VR in some undocumented update change. Then just realized my VR was still running.

In those .2 seconds I envisioned VR block and grid manipulation, Cockpit alt-view always on, etc.

oh well, maybe someday.

Landing gear doen't work properly in 1.186.3 (Steam version)

I have the Steam version of Space Engineers and the landing gear don't work properly in that they lock you to a position and don't unlock properly nor do they update their animation to reflect that you turned them on or off.

I have an existing world in which I cannot move a ship because the landing gear on it will not let it move anywhere whilst on the ship.

Grinding down the landing gear to the point where it is non-functional does not stop the landing gear from locking me in place, only...

Details: Torch in use on server, factions enabled, survival. Non-admin players inconsistently able to spawn at enemy faction owned medbays, even when the medbays are set to share with faction only. When players spawn at the medbay and turn around, they are not able to use the medbay they just spawned at (indicating the settings are correct).

None of the affected medbays are at 0,0,0 if that matter.

Problem is incredibly inconsistent and rare. But devastating for players when the only...

Hello, thanks for taking the time to view my question. Just as the title says I am wondering what happened to the "Steering speed limit", I understand it was taken out and the dev blog only tells us -
  • Reduced number of wheel/suspension settings - the game takes care of the details

I used to set Override values between 0f and 100f to control thrusters. Now the same values have only a very small effect. I need to apply values roughly 1000 x larger now!

It seems that the last update broke something in the in-game API.
Did the values change from percent to something else?

Hi all. Been kicking around building things from the early days but am brand new on the modding scene, so just wanted someone to confirm that I've assimilated this correctly.

I'm wanting to create a mod that replaces all the stock Respawn Ships in the game with ships of my own design.
I've read the official modding guide & am fairly confident that I understand what's involved but I wanted to confirm that I'm not missing some crucial step & have someone tell me whether or not I've got this...

Hello,

this one's a little weird,
so I was turning broken/ almost broken tools back into ingots.
I was trying to be efficient with my fuel sources so I left insufficient amounts of fuel in the furnace.
While still looking at the furnace inventory to see the fuel deplete itself, everything is fine,
crafting recipe was about halfway done. When I returned to put new fuel in the furnace, the crafting recipe wasn't in the queue anymore and I got the ingots I was about to get when it finishes....

Timber and round timber are mostly equivalents, 1 log gives you 4 of each in the crafting bench. Now, the mechanical sawmill gives you 6 timbers per log but no round timbers. I think in the crafting bench and in your inventory you should be able to convert 1 to 1 timbers into round timbers (not the other way around tough)

Add empty jars to Steel Smithing recipe

It occured to me, when making steel tools, that the linseed Jars are lost, in an unrecoverable way, that differs to the way linseed consuming blocks are (these recover and empty jar, on deconstruction).

So I suggest that in consuming a linseed Jar to make tools, the product includes an empty Jar, in addition to the tool produced.

Recovering mechanical saw blades

A recipe that seems to be missing, is the ability to recover mechanical saw blades, in the furnace, back to their constituent parts. As they're made up of metal parts, I'd suggest the blades recover to metal parts, rather than any metal, as you've no way to know which metal they were made from.
